Bo Nickal recently appeared on Joe Rogan Experience. On the podcast, Nickal spoke highly of former US President Donald Trump. Nickal recently golfed with Trump and retired NFL legends Lawrence Taylor and Ottis Anderson. Trump first saw Nickal in action at UFC 290 when he finished Val Woodburn in the first round via punches.
Interestingly, Nickal also mentioned an interesting thing about herpes on the podcast. This is what he said:
So, we up my overall weekly volume as the camp goes on. .. I got to the point where I was pretty freakin tired feeling it and I actually broke out and got herpes... Cuz I was stressed, My body was stressed.Bo Nickal via JRE
Herpes is a viral infection. It commonly transmits through sexual contact. However, persistent stress can also cause herpes. Nevertheless, Nickal surprised Rogan as there is a misconception that only sexual contact can transmit the infection.
Nickal will return to the octagon at UFC 300 against Cody Brundage. Dana White recently announced the bout, along with several other high-profile bouts for 2024. Nickal is undefeated in professional MMA and has finished all of his opponents. He has never seen past the first round in his career.
Bo Nickal describes the only dominating loss he suffered in Wrestling
Bo Nickal is one of the most accomplished collegiate wrestlers in the UFC. Nickal won the NCAA Division I wrestling champions three times from sophomore to senior year. Moreover, he was second in his freshman year.
Nickal’s proficiency in wrestling has many admirers in the world of MMA, such as Jorge Masvidal, Daniel Cormier, and Joe Rogan. In his recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, Nickal spoke of a time when an Iranian wrestler dominated him. This is what he said.
...I wrestled in a tournament in Rome a few years ago.....I rolled up to my second-round match, ...my opponent, who was Iranian, turned out to be taller than me, incredibly jacked, and he started the match with a forward roll and a squat jump over my head..... He took me down with a single leg, Gut-wrenched me, and dominated me throughout the match. I had never been beaten like that before ...... .However, when he competed in the World Championships that year, where they conducted drug testing, he didn't perform as well and went 0-1.Bo Nickal via JRE
The incident Nickal referenced happened long before his MMA career. It was the only time an opponent dominated him in wrestling. However, he did later find out that his opponent had a history of Steroid abuse and was not the same when there were stringent doping tests. Nevertheless, Nickal still has not forgotten the loss.
